NATG was founded by insurance fraud professionals who saw a need to standardize training on the growing problem of insurance fraud. Claims professionals, underwriters, agents and investigators face growing demands on their time, and need quality resources to recognize, identify, combat and deter fraud.

Leadership
Frederick Wharton, Founder, CEO and President
Frederick Wharton is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of North American Training Group (NATG), an international provider of insurance fraud training and consulting. He has more than thirty years in the insurance fraud industry, holding positions as Field Investigator, Fraud Manager, Legal Liaison, VP of Investigations and Training, Director of Regulatory Compliance, Consultant and Business Owner. He also served 13 years in law enforcement as a detective with the Fort Lauderdale, Florida Police Department in its street-level investigative unit.
Mr. Wharton is an internationally recognized speaker who has led lectures and training seminars for the insurance and SIU communities worldwide. He is an accredited instructor in all 50 U.S. states for insurance adjusters, agents, underwriters and investigators, and has authored and developed more than 1,000 presentations on insurance, insurance fraud and investigations.
He consults with insurance companies and third-party administrators on building their fraud management programs, and has extended NATG's work into healthcare, partnering with major medical facilities to deliver healthcare and healthcare fraud training in the U.S. and internationally.
Mr. Wharton holds a degree in International Business, with minors in Criminology and Economics, from Florida State University. He holds the Fraud Claims Law Specialist (FCLS), Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI) and Insurance Fraud Certification (IFC) designations, and is a member of the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud in Washington, DC.
